The 80’s era of pop metal had it’s share of big acts touring the biggest arenas all across the globe and one of the biggest axe sleighing behemoths came in the form of a group called Ratt.  Their hit songs like Round and Round, and Lay It Down were not only big on the radio, but really had a bigger video impact on the genre.

When Round and Round hit the MTV airwaves in the early 80’s, metal and non-metal fans alike gobbled up the frenzy for dual guitarists, high range vocals, and a very melodic rhythmic section.  In fact, Ratt helped 80′s rock bands over the heap into mainstream and mass acceptance.  Along with bands like Motley Crue and Posion, Ratt were a defining group for the 80’s round of pop metal.
