Having only passed my test a couple of months ago, I had no idea a how expensive it is to get a car on the road. Mum had insured me on her car whilst I was learning to drive which was wicked and meant that I could practice loads but I had no idea about how expensive things were. My parents have helped me out by buying me my own little banger to run around in but they have told me that I need to sort everything else out like road tax and car insurance. Road tax wasn’t too bad as the car is quite small and relatively good on emissions and stuff but I have no idea where to start with car insurance. I have checked out a few websites but things seem quite expensive. Ideally I want to spread the cost and pay monthly as that is the only way I think I will be able to afford it. If any one knows a good Irish car insurer please let me know!
