My addiction tells me that I do not have a real problem with drugs or alcohol, and that I can get away with having “just one.”  This is extremely dangerous because if you repeat these messages enough in your head then eventually your brain will start believing them. 

Another thing that my addiction tells me is that I should isolate from other people and be alone all the time.  This is also dangerous because doing so can put you in a bad space where you might end up relapsing. 

We need to change the way that we talk to ourselves so that we are not dominated by our addictive voice any more.
