My family has never made a big deal over holidays, which is all I had ever known, until I married my husband. His family is the polar opposite – holidays are a big deal, with Easter being the biggest deal of all! Their idea of Easter fun is turkey hunting the two days before, and then cooking a HUGE meal featuring fresh turkey cooked every single way you can think of. And that’s just the dinner, which follows church, Easter egg hunting, a yearly horseshoe throwing contest, and board game wars. I enjoy holidays at both of our parents homes, but I think when we have kids, we’ll have to start our own traditions, somewhere in between.
