A Commentary On “Why Chinese Mothers Are Superior”
The only issue I have with the espoused Chinese model of parenting quotes, tips, and advice is that it is not universally applicable. It is working for them and I say more power to that culture. Even within China, the author’s views are shared probably only by a small minority of high achieving parents in the overcrowded metros. For me the most important point to take away is that Chinese parents spend a lot of time with their kids, and that is something the rest of the world could do too.
The American and Western model of parenting results in kids with better social and communication skills. But you have got to wonder of what use are social skills if they grow up without technical and artistic skills.
