I think everyone has done it at one point or another. Show up at a party that may as well be a funeral because everyone is so uptight and quiet. Needless to say it totally contradicts the point of having a party in the first place. I suppose that is typical behavior when several people who do not know each other are put in the same room. That is why some form of ice breaker games are essential. That way everyone can get involved and get to know each other. After that everyone seems to have a much better time at a party.
