Tornadoes and Hurricanes: Differences
2009 hurricane names are here and so are the storms that go along with them. The midwest has already seen its fair share of severe weather in the form of wind, rain, and hail. Of course these come as a result of tornadoes being in the area. For those who live around the coasts, you are more likely to see these conditions with hurricanes. While tornadoes reach higher wind speeds and can be more destructive to single places within its path, hurricanes last longer and prolonged wind speeds and rain can bring about more damage to an area as a whole.
